Explore Greece

| Sunday, January 31, 2010
If there is a place here on earth which I particularly want to explore the most, it would be GREECE.

I am really into the Ancient Greek culture because for me, it is very interesting and I know it has a lot to offer to me.

One place in Greece I’ll particularly visit often when I am given the chance to visit Greece is Athens. I want to see the old temples built from the ancient times especially Parthenon, I want to know more about their gods and goddesses, their kings and queens, their language their culture and basically everything about the ancient Greek.

Ooohhh… I really can’t wait to explore Greece. I hope I can do it SOON.

The Greatest Dessert

|
Sahara desert a.k.a "The Greatest Desert" is not only the biggest desert in the world. It also serves as Algeria’s most visited tourist spot.

Sahara desert is the main tourist attraction of Algeria. It has a variety of landscapes - deserts, dunes, meadows, forests etc. along with many beautiful beaches and also it has one of the finest Roman ruins in the world and old Arabic cities. Over 30,000 petroglyphs of river animals such as crocodiles survive, with half found in the Tassili n'Ajjer in southeast Algeria. Fossils of dinosaurs, including Afrovenator, Jobaria and Ouranosaurus, have also been found here.

Ahhagar Mountains are also located here in the Sahara desert. It is a group of mountains consisting of volcanic rocks rising from the barren planes of Sahara with an average height of 900 meters. Also, a number of oases are found here.

Those were only few of the known tourist spot in Algeria. It is nice to know that even a desert cannot be deserted.

The land of Japan

| Monday, January 25, 2010
I have a dream to be one of those who were able to climb Mount Everest. But I know that I can't do that so I changed my target. From Mt. Everest to Mt. Fuji. Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan and it was said that watching sunrise and sunset at Mt. Fuji is a different experience. And that is what I want. Mount Fuji is blooming with cherry blossom trees and a shinkansen in the foreground—all three are iconic of Japan (from Wikipedia.com). I really love Japan, specially the Japanese skin and also the Korean's.

Kings and Queens

|
Spain is famous for its history and culture. One thing I like about Spain are the castles built for their kings and queens. When I visited the Alcázar of Segovia, I was really astonished by how huge and elegant that castle is. At the time I was there, I was imagining I am also a king living in a castle like that with lots of servants and with every good things found in life.

I really haven't seen real kings and queens. I think, they are the most rich people. They live in castles and rule a country. Wow.

Cape Verde archipelago

| Sunday, January 24, 2010
Cape Verde archipelago is located 604 kilometers (375 mi) off the coast of West Africa. My Uncle once worked in this place and he always tells us about the culture and history of the Cape Verdeans. He particularly like their music which they call morna, a melancholy and lyrical song form typically sung in Cape Verdean Creole. He tells me that is really nice to the ears and at times, people there dance into that tune.

With regards to food, corn is said to be their staple food in Cape Verde. And the National dish is Cachupa. They also eat rice and meat and vegetables. Wow.
